1. Who we are
ASK. — Everyday Clarity is provided by 7vn Designs LLC (“ASK.,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the ASK. app, website, and related support services.
2. Information you choose to provide
Depending on how you use ASK., information you choose to provide may include questions and messages, conversation content, your preferred form of address, app preferences, support messages, and photos or images that you intentionally attach. ASK. does not access or transmit a photo merely because it exists in your photo library; a photo is included in an AI request only when you deliberately select and submit it.
3. Information stored on your device
ASK. stores conversation state and certain preferences locally on your device so the app can preserve your conversations and settings. This may include conversation messages and project memory, selected language, preferred form of address, onboarding status, and your AI-processing consent choice. If you add your own OpenAI API key, ASK. stores that key using the secure storage mechanism provided by iOS through Expo SecureStore.
Local ASK. data remains on your device until you remove it using available app controls, clear the app’s data, or uninstall the app, subject to operating-system backup and restoration behavior.
4. Smart Brain and OpenAI
ASK.’s Smart Brain feature uses OpenAI as a third-party artificial intelligence service. OpenAI is the third party that receives Smart Brain requests. Before ASK. sends user-submitted personal content to OpenAI, the app displays an AI Data & Privacy permission screen and requires an affirmative choice.
If you choose Allow & Continue and then use Smart Brain, ASK. may send the following information to OpenAI through the OpenAI API:
- The message, question, or instruction you submit.
- Relevant recent conversation context and ASK project memory needed to answer your request.
- Your preferred name or form of address, if you chose to provide one.
- A photo or image only when you intentionally attach and submit it for analysis.
- ASK. system instructions needed to operate its reasoning and modular brain functions.
This information is sent for the specific purpose of generating the AI response you requested and operating Smart Brain. ASK. uses the OpenAI API key you provide for those requests.
5. Permission before transmission
ASK. does not rely only on this Privacy Policy for permission. The app presents the disclosure before Smart Brain may transmit user content to OpenAI. OpenAI network requests are also blocked at the app’s network layer unless the current AI-processing permission has been granted.
If you choose Not Now — Use Basic Mode, ASK. continues in Basic Mode and does not send your submitted content to OpenAI. The permission disclosure may be presented again on a later app launch so you can choose differently later.
6. OpenAI data handling
OpenAI receives the information described above only when you have permitted Smart Brain processing and make a Smart Brain request. OpenAI’s API terms, privacy practices, security controls, and applicable API data-retention settings govern OpenAI’s handling of that information.
7vn Designs LLC requires service providers used to process personal information for ASK. to maintain privacy and security protections appropriate to the information and service, and to handle that information consistently with applicable contractual, privacy, security, and legal obligations. We do not authorize OpenAI to use ASK. user content for our advertising or to sell ASK. user personal information.
OpenAI states that data submitted through its API Platform is not used to train its models by default unless the applicable API organization affirmatively opts in to data sharing. OpenAI may retain API inputs and outputs for limited periods for safety, abuse prevention, legal, and operational purposes under its then-current API policies. Please review OpenAI’s current privacy and API data-usage documentation for the most current details.
7. ASK. brain-module service
ASK. may connect to infrastructure operated for 7vn Designs LLC to retrieve enabled ASK. brain modules, prompts, and configuration used by the app. This service is used for ASK.’s modular reasoning configuration and is not designed as a server-side store for users’ ASK. conversations.
8. How we use information
- Provide ASK.’s requested features and responses.
- Maintain your local conversations, preferences, and app experience.
- Operate and update ASK.’s modular reasoning configuration.
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, diagnose technical issues, and provide support.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations and protect rights and safety.
9. Sharing and service providers
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use messages, images, or conversation context you submit to ASK. for third-party advertising.
Personal information is shared with OpenAI only for Smart Brain processing after the permission described above has been granted and only when you request a Smart Brain response. Information may also be disclosed to other service providers only when necessary to provide a service you request, maintain security or support, or comply with law. We expect third parties that process personal information for ASK. to provide privacy and security protections consistent with the protections described in this policy and applicable law.
10. Retention and deletion
ASK. conversations and app preferences stored locally are retained on your device until you delete them through available app controls, clear the app’s stored data, or uninstall the app, subject to device backup behavior.
7vn Designs LLC does not maintain ASK. user conversations in the ASK. brain-module database. Content sent to OpenAI is subject to OpenAI’s applicable API retention practices. You may delete ASK. conversations using the app’s conversation controls and may remove your saved API key through ASK.’s Settings.
11. Your choices
You control whether Smart Brain may send submitted content to OpenAI. You also control what you type, which images you attach, whether you provide a preferred name, whether you save an OpenAI API key, and which conversations you keep or delete.
If you do not want submitted content sent to OpenAI, choose Not Now — Use Basic Mode when the AI Data & Privacy disclosure appears and continue using ASK. without Smart Brain transmission.
12. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the services ASK. provides. API keys added to ASK. are stored using secure operating-system storage rather than ordinary conversation storage. Requests to OpenAI are blocked until the required AI-processing permission has been granted. No system can guarantee absolute security, so you should protect your device, accounts, and API credentials.
13. Children
ASK. is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact ASK. Support.
14. Privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights regarding personal information, including rights to request access, correction, deletion, or information about processing. Because ASK. stores its primary conversation data locally on your device, many choices can be exercised directly in the app. For requests involving information held directly by 7vn Designs LLC, contact ASK. Support.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as ASK. changes or as legal and service-provider requirements evolve. When we make changes, we will update the effective date shown on this page.
