Sign in to OpenAI Platform
Use your OpenAI account to open the API Platform. Your ChatGPT subscription and OpenAI API billing are separate.
Connect your OpenAI API key
ASK. uses your personal OpenAI API key for AI-powered responses. You only need to set it up once.
The process is simple: create a key with OpenAI, paste it into ASK., save it, and confirm that Settings shows you are connected.
Create a new secret key
On the API Keys page, create a new secret key. OpenAI shows the full secret when it is created, so copy it before closing the window.
Open ASK. Settings
In ASK., open Settings and find the OpenAI API Key field.
Paste and save
Paste your key into the field and tap Save. ASK. stores the saved key in your iPhone’s secure storage and hides the full value after setup.
Confirm the connection
When Settings shows Connected, return to ASK. and send a message. If it does not connect, confirm the key is active and that your OpenAI API account has billing or available credits.
Important about billingBuying ASK. does not include OpenAI API usage. OpenAI bills API usage separately from ChatGPT and separately from your ASK. purchase.
Keep your key private
- Do not email, text, post, or share your API key with anyone.
- Create a dedicated key for ASK. so it is easier to monitor or replace.
- Review your OpenAI API usage and spending limits.
- If you think a key was exposed, delete or rotate it in your OpenAI API dashboard and save the new key in ASK.
